As a commercial printer, we can produce your book printing project in nearly any size you need, though most books we print tend to fall within the confines of certain measurements:
5.5 in. x 8.5 in. 6 in. x 9 in. 7 in. x 10 in. 8.5 in. x 11 in.
are all commonly requested sizes we hear from our customers. And though we’ve printed bigger books and larger images than the dimensions listed above, we haven’t yet received the call to really expand those numbers.
Maybe to something like, say, 2165 in. x 2322 in.
That’s the size of the image that was recently awarded the Guinness Book of World Records for the World’s Largest Movie Poster, with an official measurement of 55m x 59m. That’s so large that the poster had to be displayed in an airfield.
The poster – which is for Bollywood star Akshay Kumar – was produced by a company appropriately enough called Macro Art. The poster was initially printed on 36 PVC mesh panels and then welded together. It weighs over 3,000 pounds and took a team of 40 to lift it onto a special pallet, and another 30 workers to unroll it.
A representative of Macro Art says the printing process took about 30 hours, which isn’t an incredibly long time considering the massive scale of the poster. The world record previously was held by a poster for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It,” which was smaller by just a few meters. That poster was displayed in a field near London’s Heathrow Airport, advertising the film to arriving and departing flights.
Here’s a video of the printing and display process of the new poster from MacroArt:
